
Air France boosts Phoenix Airbus A350 services to five weekly
Air France has increased its Paris–Phoenix flights from 3 to 5 weekly, now using the Airbus A350-900. The route brings a $103M annual economic boost to Arizona
So far, Air France has increased its current thrice-weekly service from Paris, France, to Phoenix, the United States, to five. In a recent switch from Boeing 787-9 and the 777-200ER to the Airbus A350-900 to serve the long-haul route.
The French carrier has been a fantastic addition to the airport’s airline roaster. Air France launched its non-stop flights to Paris, which have resulted in an estimated $103 million annual statewide economic impact, benefiting Phoenix and the state of Arizona.
Capacity increase
In a recent statement on April 29, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport announced that in May, Air France will add two extra weekly flights on flight AF68, which currently departs Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport three times per week.
The carrier even pointed out that Air France began offering non-stop flights between Paris and Charles de Gaulle. An official launch of the service will be followed up on May 23 2024, 787-9, marking the first-ever direct flight between Phoenix and France.
Sexiest new long-haul route
Cranky Flier awarded the route its- Sexiest New Long Haul Route award during the Cranky Network Awards in Representing the Arizona Airport. With the recent capacity increases, passengers will have more options and competitive fares to travel to Paris, France and other destinations by Air France.
Boaz Hulsman, the Vice President of Commercial, North America at Air France-KLM, added that Air France has been very pleased with the route’s performance and is excited to introduce more weekly flights from Paris-Charles de Gaulle to Phoenix. “This capacity increase symbolizes our commitment
to enhancing the transatlantic travel connection,” Hulsman said.
According to Phoenix-Sky Harbor, the new five-weekly service will start on May 5, with flights following the previous schedule. Flight AF68 is scheduled to leave Paris at 10:45 local time (UTC +2), arriving in Arizona at 12:50 local time (UTC -7). The return itineraries are scheduled to depart Phoenix at 15:05, returning to Paris at 10:10 the next day.
One of two european destinations
Cirium’s Diio Mi showed Phoenix only has two European destinations in May: London Heathrow Airport-served by American Airlines and British Airways. It may also be operational with Paris- Charles de Gaulle. The last time Phoenix had another European destination was in September 2024, when Condor flew a direct seasonal connection from Frankfurt Airport.
